the stowaways issue 9 out now

The Stowaways issue nine out today. i'll be at the calculator show tonight if you'd like to pick one up from me:

this issue was put on hold for a couple of weeks, but i'm glad it's finally out.
it's got an interview with justin conway from tiny lungs.
we got really drunk on memorial day, and recorded an interview.
i think it's the best interview this zine has ever printed.
it's really honest. it's great.

the zine also has the usual show reviews, music reviews,
a few zine reviews, and a letter section.

if you'd like one send $1 of well concealed cash to:

the stowaways

MRR reviews the stowaways issue #7

Maximum Rocknroll #350 - JULY -2012
reviewed the stowaways issue number seven. only two copies left.
some copies might be available for free at mass media records
or for sale through black pelican.

THE STOWAWAYS #7 / $1
8.5 X 11 - copied - 18 pgs
This SoCal-focused zine has been coming out with striking regularity. The music covered is indie and punk; local, smaller bands mostly. This installment features a long, in-person interview with Merry Christmas. The reviews are pretty well done. If this is your scene this would be a good zine to check out. zach riccobono

hey zach, you sent me money in the mail for some zines. you wrote your return address in crayon, and i couldn't really read it so i guessed. i mailed the zines to you, but it turns out the address that i guessed was incorrect so they were returned to sender. i'm down to send you your zines, so if you see this, please email me your address, or next time don't write in crayon, or if you do write in crayon make it legible.
sincerely, christopher

Razorcake reviews Roman Candles' Last Exit to Berkeley tape

razorcake reviewed the most recent roman candles tape. thanks craven.

Mr. Candles (a.k.a Christopher Gordon) says, “these songs are mostly about graduating from college and not wanting to.” His songs tend to have the same level of self-effacing modesty as that introduction, which is their charm. A little more life experience should make Mr. Candles a pretty solid lyricist. I hope that doesn’t sound condescending, because these songs are clever, humorous, and charming. Also, check out Mr. Cand... er...Christoher’s zine The Stowaways. –Craven (self-released, romancandlesmusic@gmail.com)

[you can pick up the tape HERE, or send $4 well concealed cash to roman candles / 5082 wendover road / yorba linda, ca 92886]
